When I send a card or a letter to someone I love to do it in a fun envelope! They are super simple to make, and I bet you already have all or most of the supplies on hand.
You'll need:
- Cardstock or scrapbooking paper
- Envelope
- Glue
Start by deconstructing a basic envelope by pulling all the flaps apart.
Trace the edges of the envelope on the back side of the cardstock or scrapbooking paper.
Fold the flaps of the envelope in, and place in the center of the area you traced. Trace around the envelope creating a rectangle.
Cut out, then fold on the lines.
Unfold the top flap of the original envelope and trace on the back of another piece of paper.
Cut it out, and glue to the inside of the base part of the envelope.
Glue the flaps together, and there you have it!
That's all it takes to dress up your mail!

ReplyDeletewow you are so talented. I would love to know where you get all your ribbon? I'm having a girl and I want to make some bows and I saw all that ribbon you have in the background. I don't have any so I need to start a supply without breaking my budget.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Hi Petunia-
ReplyDeleteI get my ribbon from a lot of different places- wal mart, michaels, hobby lobby etc. I look for sales and clearance items and never spend a lot of money. When I lived in CA there was an awesome store in Long Beach called The Fabric Barn that was the Mecca of ribbon, but now I only get there once a year if I am lucky!
Congrats on your baby girl! So fun!
What a fun, simple way to dress up something so basic!

ReplyDeleteI did this with an old calendar that had sunflowers or butterflies or something on it, nature scenes, stuff like that. And it turned out really cool. The post office probably didn't like all of the designs though! Fun to see such a simple explanation of how to do it!
