Last week my family spent the night together making this fun Valentine Garland. I'm not expectring to have this piece of "decor" featured on Martha Stewart or anything, but I love this project mostly because it made for a sweet family night- talking with the people you love about all the things you love- I think this will be our new Valentine tradition! Here is how we did it!
Cut some yarn, ribbon, or twine etc. to the length that you want. I got this huge roll of Hemp at the dollar store.
Cut out hearts from colored paper. I used my Silhouette for this and it couldn't have been easier! I cut out enough hearts for each member in my family to have 3 of their own plus a few decorative ones to embellish the garland.
Have each family member write on their hearts things that they love!
I loved seeing the things my family came up with.
Legos, XBox, Our Baby, Avocados... so random!
And the pictures my 4 year old drew of mom and dad are priceless!
Once the hearts are done, punch a hole in them, add a ribbon and tie them to your twine.
And now embellish your garland any way youd like!
I cut some scrap fabric with some pinking shears and tied them in knots.
I also hot glued some silk flowers in random places.
When you're done, hang it up!
It doesn't get any easier than this!
And expecially with the Silhouette- all the cutting is done for you!
