Little Girly Aprons

What could possibly be cuter than a little girl in an apron? Aprons are not only adorable, they are also super simple to make!

I was at my friends house about a month ago and she showed me some aprons she just made with her girls and I told her she had to send me pictures because I couldn't get over how fantastic they were!

To make an apron, you can make your own pattern. I fold a piece of fabric in half vertically so I can cut just one side but both sides will be even. I measure how wide I want the neck and where the waist hits my daughter, then I just make a "swoop" cut from the neck line to the waist line. I cut the fabric to be as long as I want it for her and serge or sew up the ends so they don't fray.

You can use coordinating fabric for the ties, but I think ribbon is easier and so cute!

For the straps on top, I found that using some cute elastic is the way to go. Measure how long you need it then sew each side of the elastic to the neck line of the apron and that's it- easy on, easy off. (and if your daughter is like mine, those aprons are always coming on and off!)

Use your creativity to embellish your aprons- add some trim, a pocket, some buttons or bows.

And here are some pictures! My friend gave me permission to use these, but I didn't know how she would feel if their faces were pictured, so I cropped them out, which is a shame because her little girls are DARLING! The perfect little models for some perfect little aprons!

Here is one another friend of mine made that I bought at a boutique. I think she only charged $7- what a steal!!!

I made this little denim one last year and made myself a coordinating one. I would've gotten in the picture with mine on to show how cute they look together, but today was a no-shower day for me at my house and I thought I would save you all from seeing that!

Anyway, make some aprons already! Your daughter, niece, sister, friend or whoever will thank you for it!

  1. How super cute!!! My 3yo dd has been begging me to make an apron for her for a while now. And now with this easy pattern I can make her one. I also found a free chefs hat on youcanmakethis.com to go with it. She'll be so excited.

By the way I love your blog. Keep up the great work.
