There are so many good reasons why you should have a blog! I am going to list my top 5 favorite things I like about having this blog and hopefully inspire any lurkers or "fence sitters" into jumping on the blogging bandwagon!
Yep, this is first on my list because it is most important to me. As a stay at home mom of 3, I need some adult "conversation" every so often, and blogging is my way of "conversing" with people over the age of 6.
Your comments make me smile and make me feel like I have done something good! Not having a boss that I report to each day is a good thing in that I don't get in trouble for not doing good, but it also means I never get the positive acknowledgment either. Keep the comments coming and you guys can be my "boss!" (Except don't tell me what to do, I get that enough from my kids!)
I just started this blog in July and before that was in a creative rut. One of the reasons I wanted to start this blog was that it pushed me a little more to use my creative brain before I lost all talent I may have had left. Now I craft and think, "This is going to be a great blog post!" I am happier and so are my kids because a lot of the projects I do we can do together!
Maybe one day my kids will look back on this blog and think, "Wow- mom was creative!" or "We did fun things with mom all the time!" Fun crafts might overturn the memories of bored Saturdays being babysat by the TV! lol...
Even if no one reads it, I feel like I can vent frustrations, share good ideas and get involoved in worthwile causes and hopefully inspire others to do the same.
You got me thinking about my reasons for blogging and I think you touched on most of them. Here is my top #10 list-
ReplyDelete#1- A way to do Family History. My kids will love reading my blog one day (I get them made into a book every year)
#2- It's more fun than watching TV
#3- I feel validated as a smart and savvy girl when people comment and express appreciation for things that I have written about.
#4- I get to meet women from all over the world and the world suddenly feel's very small.
#5- It's a way to share family news with loved ones far away and loved ones nearby who don't always have time to call.
AMEN!!!!! to #1 (and the rest but..) I love to blog!!! I enjoy it or else wouldn't do it. Keep on!
ReplyDeleteWell said! I can't believe you just started in July and have so many viewers already...I need help! ha ha :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! Every single thing you listed, I can apply to myself and why I blog. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I teach 8th grade and most of my daily interaction is not adult!! I look forward to my blog and sharing random stuff. And being a blogger has pushed me to try things and be more creative! I love your blog--can't wait to see next month's challenge!
ReplyDeleteMy main reason for blogging is it is my form of journaling. It is so much easier for me to post some pictures and add a paragraph about what we did than scrapbook!
ReplyDeleteI agree with every reason!!! It's so addicting!!
ReplyDeletei am so glad that you blog! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is why I read blogs. I don't have to say things that I'm thinking when someone else has already done it--and done it exceptionally well!
